Interesting People

Traveling is more than just seeing sights and eating well. It's also about meeting new people, both locals and fellow travelers.I found all of this when I visited Holland in May, 2005, taking part in the ceremonies marking the 60th Anniversary of the Liberation of Holland by the Canadian Army.

This is my friend Doug Dunlop, from Peterborougho, Ontario, my mate in Holten, Holland during the 60th Anniversary of the Liberation of that country. We were the guests of Teun and Frieda Hofman, and daughter Dian and youg Thorsen for the ten days' activities. There were 1,900 Canadian veterans with their helpers, Canadian bands, men and women of the Armed Forces, and a platoon of scarlet- clad Mounties.

Marg had the room next to us. She hails from Little Rock, Arkansas.
